has any one had the inconsistent low/ high idling problem with 102NW /TB
and fast 102 /IM fitted on cam only LS3
it will idle OK out of gear most of the time but when its in gear the idle rpm some times drops till it stalls or the next time you push the clutch in the rpm will stay high 1500 rpm or so then drop slowly very inconsistent then some times it perfect
i have heard that this is typical of aftermarket TB ??

it ran perfect with just cam and tune AND the OEM TB /IM
till the NW TB and fast 102/ IM went on, it has been returned several times
i'm thinking of removing the after market stuff
what are your thoughts
cheers

We relocated the map sensor off the back because it was very close to the fire wall and we were worried that it might be tapping it sometimes as my motor mounts were worn and the motor was moving quite a bit. I've also heard about the FAST 102 not sealing as well as the older one. When I was talking to Alvin @ PCM4less he was telling me how me makes sure to press them together really good because he saw one example where this was a more pronounced issue than the others. We added a hole to the blade relocated the map and check the manifold for any leaks and touched up the tune a bit (unsure of the exact changes there) but after that it has not stalled on me. Mine would only do when clutching it going into neutral rolling to stop or in a parking lot where I was shifting in and out of reverse and drive alot.

I know mine is on a 4th gen just trying to help.

ok thanks
this one is being a bitch have retouched the tune several times and refitted it twice ,has a 4mm hole in the plate going for 5mm now with a retouch ,
it is just inconsistent one time you put the clutch in its fine ,the next the time rpm stays up , the next time it stalls ?
have had it off twice the blade seams free in the body

For drive by wire, you should not need to have a hole drilled in the blade, this alone can intensify the problem you are having. My guess is that there is an issue with the calibration, fix the hole in the blade and fix the calibration and you should be good.

I Have a similar problem when I installed my 102 Fast/102 Fast TB on my LS1 where I had a inconsistant idle (up/Down), would sometimes stall on a low idle dip, but also idle normal at times which was weird, though Car runs Great.

Just to Make sure and try to help you out, Did u Installed the Bolts they Give you for the Valley Cover(which sit shallower), Cause Half of the people forget and get issues, check the 2 small vacuum hoses on the back, re-install the 0 rings for IAC & TPS? Did you RTV The TB Gasket and Intake Gaskets, for Vacuum leaks?

You should not need a hole as (if the parameters are right) the blade itself is already allowing airflow around the blade. So there should be no need for a hole, esp with such a larger area that is open like on a 102mm tb.

I had one recently kick my ass. I got it decent, but not near as nice as I think it should be. I think something else is wrong though, because I've done a bunch of them, and never had an issue. For whatever reason, this one is different.
