Default I wish people would keep their mouths shut :(..........

O.K. I asked last night about this cam
It is a COMP CAM
216 / 220 .525 / .532 114 LSA
If it was a deal, well a friend went and told him i was about to buy a new one similar for 400 and now he wants 250 for the cam, new in box, is it still a good deal??
I was thinking 918 springs, and some chromoly pushrods.

If this is the cam you want, then this is a good deal. It is new in box so if you dont get it from him you pay over $100 more. With this cam, you should be able to run LS6 springs and not worry about any valvespring problems. If you want good drivability with little lope or surge, to pass emissions testing, and have a good low end then this is the cam for you. If you want a lot of lope, a high powerband, and the most possible horsepower currently available, then this cam is not for you.

I personally would not rush into it if I was unsure as to what I wanted to do with the car because cam swaps, if not done by yourself, can be expensive.

The cam swap won't be much, the local shop here gets alot business from me so i get really good deals,

I want a cam, but will be eventually be going to turbo, so this will just hold me over

i have been wanting to replace the pushrods anyways, i just can't decide. I want it to be a sleeper in a way. i have some stuff already on the car

I really just want to have a few more things done to the car so i can save for a turbo kit, I think i would like to have this that way it will sound stock but not run stock Also i don't want to do head work besides for maybe milling, I think i could get 35 rwhp with this cam and some milling on the head, also i think i have a bent pushrod or two , I don't want to rev the car anyhigher either cause i want to be able to save a build a seperate motor instead of repairing this one constantly.

The cam you are talking about should work fine in holding you over until you can add boost. I'd buy the cam from your friend if I was you, because it saves you 100 bucks, and that can go into improving the rest of the valvetrain. Get a set of hardened comp pushrods, maybe upgrade the valve springs. I don't think it would need better springs, so you should test the springs before you reuse them. If they are soft replace them, if not reuse them. Another thing to look at would be reducing the weight of the valvetrain to allow the engine to rev faster. Stuff like titanium retainers and locks, shaft mount rockers. I know that I like the exotic stuff, but it does work. I personally wouldn't mill the heads if you plan on adding boost, but if a head swap is planned before the boost is added, I don't see it hurting you, or the resale value of the heads. Good luck
