Default I can't get my air/fuel gauge to work?

I bought one of the dummy air/fuel ratio gauges to fill the extra hole after I added a water temp gauge. Well its part number ATM-5775 from summit. It said power wire, ground wire, and 02 sensor signal. Well I've got it hooked to the purple wire on the harness and it doesn't do anything but light up green. Have I got it hooked up on the right wire? At first I actually had it on the blue wire on the 02 extension (plugged in straight in front of purple and it didn't work) so I hooked it up on the actual harness and still nothing. What could be the problem?

Check a wiring diagram and look for the reference wire leading back to the pcm. Can't remeber what color it is, I had the same problem so I just bought a pig tail for the o2 that has an extra wire coming out for o2 guage. Bought it from pace performance, and ran a wire tthrough the firewall down to the sensor on the driver side

Is your gauge narrow or wideband and did you match it with the sensor?
Not trying to insult. It happens.

This was a long time ago. It was a narrowband. I just stopped messing with it. It'll light up a little at high rpm wot it was just there to fill a hole anyway. I used the instructions and it never worked so I just didn't worry about it.
