Default Health and Safety Gauges

I am looking for some input for the most critical gauges to monitor engine health. I am somewhat new at engine building and want to make sure I am watching for the right indicators if there happens to be a problem?

Well I feel like oil pressure is the most important. With out out you can ruin an engine in seconds. Temperature is also good to know in case your cooling system isnt working properly so you can turn off the car before damage occurs. Most cars also come stock with a voltmeter. Tells you how much power if any the alternator is making. I also think that depending the the vehicle if you have an auto transmission a trans temp gauge is nice. Unless it is a truck that you are using to tow you can probably forgo the trans temp. The other three gauges come stock on almost any vehicle. Oh yeha forgot to mention tach. Its also good to know what RPM's your turning so your not blowing anything up.

Oil pressure, oil temp, water temp. If you are building a more extreme engine, wideband AFR and EGT also.

Wish I did but I think the boost is going to have to wait. I definitely underestimated the build cost for my engine.
