Default Exhaust has a squeak noise after cam/head swap.

I installed a Speed Inc si6 cam and 243 heads. Along with trunion kit, oil pump, lifters, t chain, push rods, fuel injectors and all new gaskets. I got the car to idle. No tune yet. But the exhaust squeaks alot. Any idea what this could be?

Cam is a little more on the motor mounts so the exhaust is probably now rocking around a bit and possibly rubbing on something close by that it may not have befored

where's the squeek coming from? i've seen a guy put the wrong head bolts on aluminmum heads on an ohv ford......and this allowed one cylinder to blow compression past the gasket. it was a chirp/squeek.........

It's at the tail pipes. I checked for exhaust leaks. I used gm bolts from Texas speed.

I think I might have dropped one of the old fuel injector o rings into the head while swapping injectors. I know it popped off and I could not find it. Maybe that is making the noise? I'm not sure if it feel in the head or where it went. I looked for over a hour. All I know is you can hear the chirp sound coming out of the tail pipes. Car doesn't leak one drop and runs fine otherwise.

I started the car today. Let it run for 30 min. The more it ran, the less noise it made. I think it might be the exhaust. At first start up the pipes move alot. Then when the car warms up, the pipes don't move near as much.

i did just about the same mods you did, and i have a squeak coming from the passenger side exhaust , i can hear it at the tail pipes at the back and at the header in the front, had the headers on the car before the engine mods and had no noise, at the moment I'm stumped also

A easy way of seeing exhaust leaks is a fog machine. At are shop we turn on the fog machine in a small room turn of the lights and geta black light and you can see exactly where a exhaust leak is.

i worked at a new car dealership for years an used a fog machine a lot looking for evac system leaks, that can help out now but i have no access to one, its a weird type of squeak, like a pulley bearing or some type of metal to metal contact coming from the exhaust area.
