Default My 99 T/A APS TT Build

So ITs been going on for a while and now has over 2k miles on it . I still concider it a work in progress. I bought the car from a member on the board and it started as a h/c m6 car but has had alot of changes. I gave it to Matt who built a few other turbo cars on this site to put together. I wanted to have a nice daily driver that was really stealthy. Im happy to say I got exactly what i was looking for. I do run the car on e85
Mods are

APS Extreme Twin Turbo Kit

AES 390 short block with dragon slayer crank
tfs 220 as cast heads
ls9 head gaskets
comp 224/224 .581/.581 116 lsa
harlan sharp rockers
katech c5r timing chain
katech oil pump
ls6 intake

Xtreme 4l80 TRans
Circle D 3500 multidisc converter

9 inch
3.25 gears
tru trac
33 spline

AES 390 Ci Iron Boost short Block

Trick flow 220 as cast heads

LS9 Head Gaskets getting the treatment

ARP Head Studs

Rocker Arms

A few more updates pics

1. bmr aps turbo k-frame

2. xtreme 4l80 with trans brake

3. Circle D 3500 stall multidisc

4. My -10 Fuel line

5. Intercooler installed

6. Just a funny little sticker I found

Found some time to hit the rollers this week . Ive had some charging issues and spark blow out that has been stopping me from going all out but I seem to have been able to get some good pulls after all. now Im just have a problem hooking up and not spinning on the rollers

Nice build. Thanks for sharing.
How do you like it compared to your 05 GTO with the 418?

Thanks

2 very different cars for sure. The gto was a great car and I should have kept it and had both. But Then I start hitting some boost and I forget all about it. I have ruined many peoples nights with this car already. The T/a really suprises people because it sounds like a stocker with exhaust only.

Awesome build. I love a stealth build. Partially because they usually mean all the creature comforts are still there. (A/C) great build thanks for sharing and nice numbers!

The car has put down 751 @ 15 psi with 20 deg timing

These pulls were made with 17.5-18 psi and 15 deg timing.

I tried to up the timing with the higher boost setting but the tires just started spinning on the dyno.

Got a new cam coming and a fast 102 intake to install. I should have some new numbers soon.

I might be making that call this week. I do have a problem making more power since i cant get my tires to stop spinning on the dyno. 4 straps and 2 guys in the trunk... It doesnt seem to matter. Might be a suspension thing.

BTW I did change my cam to a 230/230 on xe lobes.

Looks good, very stealthy setup. We did a setup like that over a year ago 418/APS extreme. At 18lbs made 920/920 or so.

Just make sure when it's dyno'd the car is on the front side of the dyno roller. We never have spin problems.

Is there any space behind the transmission cooler and the crash bar?

Thats what seems so strange. Ive been on 2 different dynos now and have spun hard on both as i incresed the power.

I do have 325/50/15 inch mickeys on the car that spin hard at prkwy speeds

Where did you buy your 230/230 cam from?

Just a couple of updates on my build I changed to the 230/230 cam and installed the fast 102 intake with a 90 mm tb ( I already owned one ) .

Anyway the car put down 825/740 @ 16 #`s of boost through my unlocked tq converter

I did run into a couple of problems. I now have an injector duty cycle of 127 on my 120 # injectors So I couldnt not crank it up
I just got new injectors 2000cc so we will see how the car does with those
Keep an eye out in the next week or so for new numbers and hopefully a track outting soon.

Here are my last best dyno sheets the lower number was at 18 psi before the new mods and the higher is the new numbers at 16 psi. These are uncorected but you can see sae correction would raise the numbers alittle higher.
There was a bit of spinning which might explain the power dip at 5600 on the latest pull
