Paint & Body Work - Question on Rattle can paint

So I painted all my Fabricated stuff under my hood that I made( fuse box cover , Battery cover, air box,,) These are all metal pieces but I painted them with Fusion Spray paint because it matched My color scheme. I took the parts out to my painted to clear for me and when he sprayed them they totally went to shit! Fished, wrinkled.. It was unreal. I have cleared this stuff lots of times but with rattle can clear. Any idea why this happened?

I'll tell you exactly what happened. Most rattle cans have a window you must re-coat in. If I recall it's typically within 4 hours. If you don't re-coat within that timeframe, the paint starts to cure. At this point it could take up to 21 full days to cure. If you try to recoat within the curing period, the gases it releases will fisheye and wrinkle your paint. Hope that helped.

He hit the nail on the head! Even if a finish is dry or seems totally cured it is not, it releases gasses and changes for a long time before it's fully cured. Sorry to hear this happened to you man, but should be no problem to re-do.

I've also seen clears that didn't like some base paints.
