Default Throwing a secondary air injection code...

OK, I've had my headers installed for awhile now, and got my rear 02's hooked back up. now about every 100 miles it throws the above code. Does this code affect AFR like the o2 code would causing a rich condition?

No. That code doesn't nothing to afr. It's just a pump that warms up the cats when first started. Gett it tuned out.

So the car will still go into open loop and run just fine? The reason I ask is I hadn't really planned on having to have the car re-tuned as it was supposedly prepped for 'race style' headers when it was dyno tuned when I first bought it... clearly that shop failed to do that correctly, but they're out of business now. With a new baby here if it screws up my gas mileage its worth re-tuning it right now.. if it has no affect.. 100% not worth it at the moment for me especially since heads are on the list for next year

just a final verify for sure before I spend the money elsewhere, the AIR code does NOT affect open loop tune or AFR with an end result of decreased MPG does it?

The system is there for emissions reasons doesnt have anything to do with how the car runs.

You probably have to have it tuned out, but you can go into your fuse box and pull the fuses that correspond the the AIR pump in the meantime so you don't have to hear your pump if you haven't completely removed it.
