LS4 Performance - Replotting my cars future

So now that im getting the G8 ive been rethinking the direction im going to take the GP.
My original plans involved the CT turbo kit and tep trans w 2.97 (those gears last longer according to dave at tep)
Now that the G8 is in the picture..... I dont think that the GP needs the hit in durability associated with all of that power.
So now the current plan is a Tep trans w/ 3.69's. Ported LS4 intake , 3in Exhaust , mild cam , torque converter to match , and maybe a 50pill. plus my listed mods , All tuned by lew.
What are your guys thoughts?

Unless you have a ported LS4 already just do a LS1 or LS6 swap

I agree with everything listed above, minus the ported ls4 intake.
3.69s rule btw!

Why don't you just sell the prix and put that money into supercharging the g8 :)

Yeah I have to agree with whitegxp....if you have a g8 nodding the gxp could be setting you up for failure....I would intake exhaust and tune and leave it alone.

Winter and a summer car. No way in hell i will ever drive the G8 through the winter. The only reason my mods list is so small atm is that i have not been able to afford the downtime , i drive the car everyday. The G8 will get supercharged for sure. I just cant leave the GP the way it is , it feels so halfassed atm. And besides which i despise the factory exhaust.
Why the hate for the ported ls4 intake?
It showed similiar gains to an ls1 swap and cost 1/4 as much?

I will know tomorrow night the differences in a FAST 90mm and the LS1 intake that everyone swaps to. if the dimensions are roughly close at about 3 critical areas (around the rear bulge) the only modifications required would be:
1. grind off and epoxy shut some of the vacuum nipples.
2. relocate PS reservoir
3. adapt LS4 TB to intake or wire up appropriate 90mm DBW TB
I will know more when i pick up this intake tomorrow. the best part is the price. it's under 300 bucks ;) - so i stand to make money even if i don't use it. haha

because the more you mod the less efficient it becomes where as you can only go up from a LS1 or LS6 with porting. you are maxed out with a ported LS4.

Dont really plan on outflowing it though , the final mod list on the car is listed above? I dont really see it needing one. Could i see gains with the ls6 and listed mods , maybe slight , but is it worth the excess 600$ , not for this car.

I understand keeping the car for the winter, but adding more hp to drive thru the snow doesn't make sense. And it still seems like it is going to be your DD and the G8 will be the vehicle you take out on nice days, so do you really want to lose reliability and risk taking the g8 out on days you normally wouldnt.

Ewwwww you couldnt pay me to drive a stubbbbbbie. I raced my buddies sti , and besides being a total dog , they look and sound ugly.
Nope , my GP has never let me down in the winter. Starts up every day , even when its minus 50 , it doesnt get stuck , and its fwd. The gp is not going anywhere.

I love my car,bit a dog an sti is not. My brother has an 07 with intake and turbo back exhaust and a Cobb handheld and ran 12.70 all day long. Along with a 5500 launch control the shits nasty and there's nothing.internally done to it.

I like my car for what it is. I'd love the turbo kit if I could afford it. For me its a great car for Colorado. I just wanna finish up with the bolt ons and make it my own.

I dont see the reason to have a GXP as a winter/DD car. Its kinda bad on gas, not too reliable, and has waaaay to much torque to the front wheels to be a good winter car. I do understand why you would want to keep the car though because even though it had all those faults I LOVED it, but i didnt have a G8

Ive never had a problem driving her in the winter. Maybe its because my first car was boat (4 door bonneville ssei superchargered 3.8) and she made ALL of her tq at 3k.
