Florida Members - Gainesville area guys/gals come in here

Who all is in the Gainesville/Lake City/Ocala/ surrounding areas that would be interested in meeting up? I was thinking maybe Cody's roadhouse on Archer RD, Ale house (NOT on thursday nights with the idiots though) but I'm open to suggestions for another place. I was thinking either Saturday or Sunday afternoon the weekend of April the 7-8 but I'm flexible. I know Cody's does cruise ins from time to time, I'm probably going to go by tomorrow and talk to them and see if they would be willing to allow it.

I also would like to coordinate a track meet one of these days as Gatornationals is over, and the raceway is back open.

Feel free to post in the thread with suggestions.

I'd love to get a consistent meet up start going. I started lagging with my meets just due to life catching up and not having any time :-( . I can't say I'm in for sure, but the Camaro should be done here really soon.

Getting a meeting up and rolling hasn't been as easy as it was in years past. We tried several times to get something going at Hooters and a few other places but it seemed to be hit and miss many a times. I don't head out as much with work and a 2 year old keeping me busy. Still make time for racing though :D

That's a pretty decent area, I have tried to get something going a couple times, but not too much interest really. I usually end up going to the ocala meets or the Jacksonville meets.

Ale House has worked in the past. We did a car show there last year for a fundrasier and they worked with us very well to secure parking and such. Might want to try them; give a call or stop by in advance.

Cool deal! I know the Tilted Kilt in Ocala has a car night once a month; I just never have time during the week anymore. Want to drive the hot rod more; the round trips to Ocala on the Honda are killing me!

Let me know the next time you guys meet up. I have a 2000 Z28 that I bought bone stock, and have slowly been adding mods. I need to find a good dyno tune shop in the area.

I have a mild cam and supporting mods waiting to go on.

Jeremy Formato is in Tampa, he's the best in the area IMO. He comes to Gainesville every other month or so, give him a call. His website is fasterproms.net. He knows his stuff he's tuned all my cars.

If you want it done right, and not have to deal with certain tuners attitudes
I would take it to doc at efi alchemy in Jacksonville, coolest tuner and shop around...

Another vote for Jeremy Formato. Tuned both my rides, does great work.

bunch of fast cars and slow ones..lol.. meet up at lee's chicken in ocala ..hwy40 at about 10pm .. they stay till about 1am & get down to bussiness .. couple high 9's cars there.. its bettin gettin packed there latly.. if g-ville dosnt have nuttin else going on there..idk there scene to well.. this is a mature meet at lee's no ricers..ocasinally few will come up there.. but no screwing around in the parking lot goes on there..

Is that on saturdays? I dont get down that way much I might have to check it out one night

every sat..as long as weather is good.. some people trailer there cars up there.. last sat there were about 30ish cars 50-60 people.. if ricers are your thing ,,they meet at checkers on hwy 200 by the mall. .. that was gettin packed .recent accident cleared em out.. so idk how it is now..

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I called EFI alchemy and liked what they had to offer. I will be bringing my z28 there once I buy a truck for an extra vehicle. I'll be sure to post a dyno sheet and review of the service.

They tuned my 383 Z28, no complaints and Doc gave it a very safe tune; he even told me he left about 20HP on the table because my injectors werent big enough. I just use Jeremy because I have been a repeat customer and he does it for cheap. Plus he has always done me right and knows LSX stuff. The only reason I used EFI the one time is because Jeremy is always busy and I desperately needed a tune. They are both outstanding and I cant really recommend one over the other, I have just been dealing with Jeremy for 5 years.
