Fueling & Injection - Increasing fuel flow through pressure vs. injectors

Hi, so I was just doing my own thing for a while not in touch with the modding community and my plan to get some more fuel was to reregulate my electronic fuel pump and retune my computer. In my mind that would leave the pump still cool enough with sufficient gas to cool it down, and not over stress anything while getting good atomization out of stock injectors. On here it looks like the vast majority of people replace injectors and leaves the pressure stock. Why does everybody go this rout? Thanks

Several reasons.

- The pump volume is dramatically reduced with increased pressure.
- The injector spray pattern is disturbed if pushed too far above stock leading to poor atomization.
- Fuel flow rate is only increased by the square root of the new divided by the square root of the old. So even if you double the pressure you are only looking at 41% more flow, and I guarantee the injectors and pump will not be happy at that pressure.
