Default start up high rpms

So here it is. When I start my car it the tons shoot up to 3500 or so and then after 30 to 45 seconds it goes to normal rpm.

My tuner said it is because I am using a stand alone trans controller! The setup is as follows.

Procharged 402, 4L80 on 10lbs of boost. Nothing to crazy.

Besides this small issue the car makes great power and the drivability is the best I have seen. It is speed density tuned.

Any help would be great!

I had this happen when my car sat for awhile, the battery barely cranked it, then it did this when it started. I shut it off, restarted, and it just was normal. Might not be the same thing yours is doing since you have a lot of mods compared to me.

thats a good question. do you feel its after its more warmed up? or doesnt temperature matter? maybe its takeing a few for the comp. to adjust fuel/air? could be the weather? depending on altitude and seasons sometimes things are touchy. im not sure what makes a car rev without throttle though...lol. besides not enough or to much air and fuel. if its only 35 seconds its gotta be something in the computer takeing time to adjust or somethin. not to sure buddy..ill talk to my tuner see what he says for ya..

Does it every time it starts. I have a call into ho tuners to see if they may have a solution. Sure it does not hurt anything just more me wanting it to be perfect.

sounds like a combo of several things...
possibly too much idle airflow
too much in startup enrichment
too much in startup airflow adders
probably need more timing reduction in startup flare control

post a file, we can look...it should be easy to spot what is going on
