Default Kooks Headers" 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 ???

I ordered the Kooks Lt Stainless header with the hi flo cats & off road X pipe but can't decide on the 1 3/4 or 1 7/8 . MTi said the 1 7/8" would be fine with a small Tq lost and a slight Hp gain on top . Some guys on Corvette Forum that use these bad azz headers say go with the 1 3/4 with my H/C package if I don't plan to run some type of power adder in the future like S/C or Nos. What do you think!

I second some feedback. I, too, may soon be running heads and cam on a Z06 and am strongly considering the Kooks'.

From what I have heard is that the 1 3/4 are the best unless you are big cube or power adder.

Exclamation

1 3/4 is realy the best way to go, unless you plan to have BIG cubic inch, a power adder, or plan to turn the alot of RPM. 1 3/4 is a good all around primary & is not small at all! If any one has any questions on part #'s or pricing PM, or e-mail me...

What about stepped? That's an option.

On an LS1, you'll lose no power by going to a 1-7/8" on stock cubes. Granted, there might be a lil torque lost, but you'll have the bigger headers when and if you ever decide to go bigger. Also, the stepped 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" are a great choice also for a stock cubed LS1.

Well, I have the Kooks 1 7/8".

I will have the dyno graph soon (they didn't have paper)

pre-headers
330 rwhp / 348 rwtq (330 was a spike, mostly 325-327) locked
dropped off after 5400
best 12.02 @ 111.12

headers
first good hooking day, 11.86@114.12 (also 11.88,11.90,11.93)

Then I strapped it on the dyno on tuesday.
335 rwhp / tq was about the same, but it was 335 from 5200-6000 AWESOME

I'll be going H&C soon, so that's why I went with 1 7/8"

i would go with the 1 7/8 its not so much youll lose torque you will but youll make it farther up the rpm band and itll respond better to future upgrades.
