Ok I know I need to wire the "L" terminal of the 4 wire alternator connector up to the dash dummy light. BUT... The connector I got new from GM is labeled from drivers side to passengers A B C D.

My question is which terminal is the "L" terminal.

S F L P. S is the 10 ga.?(largest) wire that goes to ignition then the F(field) then L which is the one for the light circuit. Sometimes the alternator is marked on the regulator.

Dude, just look at the connector pic in the lower RH corner and compare it to yours. It's not rocket science, the connector only fits one way.

S10, awesome diagram. I am getting ready to integrate my carb'd 5.3 into my Nova and was looking for an explaination on the alternator wiring. Pretty simple really, thanks for the info!
