2001 mustang with 6.0 alt wiring help I have done a search but didn't find anything on this! My mustang is a 2001 mustang GT and the stock alt plug has 2 wires and the 6.0 alt has a 2 wire plug. Can i simply connect the 6.0 alt plug to my factory wiring? I assume one wire is a keyed 12 volt and the other is for the guage I guess. Any help would be appreciated!

Are you using the factory underhood fuse box?
I haven't test fired mine yet but the green/red wire from the Ford fuse box is the signal wire for the alternator however everything I read said you need a resistor solidered inline with that wire to knock the voltage down. I'd have to look at my notes at home but I believe it was terminal B of the alternator plug that it goes to. The other wire is just for a gauge.

I am using the fuse box. I think its a 4 1/5 ohm resistor but not sure. I have it wrote down in my car. So the green / red wire to terminal b on plug with a resistor then the other is for my guage. Sounds easy enough if I'm understanding correctly. I'm gonna start dropping the engine and trans in tomorrow so hopefully soon I can start figuring out the wiring! Anything I figure out I'll post it.
