Default 1996 Chevy S-10 5.3 swap questions?

Hey guys I just started my 5.3 swap in my 1996 Chevy S-10 extended cab but I have a few questions that I hope you guys can answer... First is I keep hearing about the 4L60E that is in the truck needs a mounting plate to mate up to the 5.3L motor. Is this True and what and where do I need to order it from? Second is the cooling system.... What radiator do you guys recommend? I really dont have $700 bucks for the radiator and fans from Current with everything else I have ordered.... And last question is about fuel delivery. My truck had the 4.3L in it and keep hearing things about delivery and return lines. Does my truck have everything needed or do I need to swap some things to make it work with my truck? Oh PS... Can I get rid of the vacuum can on the hood with this swap? Thanks and hope I can get some help from the board......

Take a few minutes hit the search feature and you will find pages and pages of s10 LS swaps even one of my own. You will find every answer to your question and tons of pics to clarify. If you then need more info post up and happy to help you out.

Flexplate 12621399

I used a 4.3l rad in mine so far it stays pretty cool. I dont remember where i got the fans from but they were cheap..
for the fuel i used a c5 filter/regulator which has the return. again been working fine.

Yeh I don't really want to spend $975 for the CPW kit but dont want to blow my motor up either.... with so many parts to buy and still stay within budget has gotten pretty hard.... But your having no problems running the 4.3 Radiator at all? I'm in Florida and it just gets to hot here to take a chance....

I run 4.3 radiator with flex a lite 210 fans. She blows ice cold air out the a/c and will stay around 210-230 in stop and go traffic and never get any hotter in south texas where we were averaging 105-112 last summer

Thanks guys that's the input I needed! Ok my last thing I cant figure out is if I have the right stuff for my fuel system. It was a factory 1996 4.3L and see all this talk about dual flow and flex fuel and are just confused on this. Can anyone steer me right for my last question?

I picked up a V8 4L60E for my s10, I could've used my stock 4l60 but was told the V8 trans can handle more power due to more clutches.

Your s10 should have been a CPI engine, right? If so they run 50+ psi. The stock pump should be plenty to run the engine. Use corvette filter.

I decided to buy a heavy duty 4.3 Radiator with Flex-A-Lites new 410 Fan system. The 210 system has been discontinued.... Ill post pics shortly. Thanks again!

I'm running a stock 02 4.3 pump on my 6.0 with the vette fuel filter regulator combo and non return ls6 rails and manifold. Runs like a top Your 96 4.3 pump will work perfectly.

I also run the universal aluminum rad the was in the car when I bought it with the SBC. I used it with 2 BBC and now the 4.8. I put stock 03 truck hoses and had to shorten the lower by 3". I used a used PT Cruiser fan we had lating around the shop.

Just move the canister somewhere out of sight and run a new hose to it.
