is it possible to delete it without harming anything or not?
Monitors pressure in the fuel tank for any leaks.. Part of the vapour sytem.. Alot of guys delete it all, just make sure you vent your tank good or you wont be able to pump gas.

So as long as the evap system remains in place i don't need this you're saying? i hadn't planned on removing the whole system. it's just kind of in the way for my -8 fitting currently after installing a 90* -8 fitting on top of the fuel bucket hat.

Correct, all this does is periodically monitors if the evap system has a leak somewhere, common issue is if you forget to put your gas cap on. You will get check engine/trouble code if you delete, but there is a way to reflash the ECM to stop the evap code from going off
