Default Do you think could've hurt a rod?

OK guys, I've got stock LQ9 pistons and rods. Rods have ARP bolts.

I went to do some assembly and didn't notice the shop had sent me .010" under bearings instead of standard like I needed. I put the bearings in, torqued them to 40 ft lbs. Engine wouldn't turn over, so that's how I found out wrong bearings.

My big ? is since the bearing was too thick, could I have distorted the rod cap by torquing it down?

Thanks

More than likely you will be fine, .010" isn't that much of a difference for the rod cap to flex with proper torque....now if you would have run it, then that would have been a problem real quick.

Just pull the wrong bearings out and put the right ones in and you will be good
