Default MS3 + 7.4" Rods + 799 heads

I know everyone is saying to measure to make sure my PTV clearance is good. I just want to know if I should have a friend send me the 7.4's I bought from him, or have him save them and measure BEFORE I get the rods and just buy new ones?

I know every engine is different so any help is appreciated!

buy the pushrod length checker its easy to use it will tell you what length you need instead of guessing around

Measure first and it will save a lot of headache.

Are the #799s milled +.020 , +.030? If they are, you will have issues.

The place where I work has a pushrod checker so I can do that, but mainly was wondering if I should have him keep his push rods till I know what size I need?

And the heads are not milled. They're stock.
