Default Which oil pump/chain combo works best for you?

I should have done this a long time ago when I did my cam but never did. The car isn't driven often at all so it's ok. I was looking at slp's double roller timing chain and high volume pump combo on ws6store... My question is would this be a good combo for a street car that will eventually see some track time?
Mods are fast 92/92
Torquer v2 cam package 232/234 112 lsa
Full exhaust
799 heads

FWIW, I have a stock timing chain cover and don't plan on getting a different one. Will the double roller fit with no issues? What do you guys know?

If it isN 't a good combo, what is a good combo?

IMHOP i think its a good combo its what i installed on my car, easy install dont have to worry about spacers when you use the slp combo and it all fits with no grinding of the front cover. it does comes with a separate spring if you want to change the pressure but i used what SLP had already installed

I have and like the Melling 10296 oil pump together with the Katech-grade IWIS chain sold by Thunder Racing (among others).

Get an LS2 chain from Yank on here.....
Buy a ported stock pump(sometimes called an LS6 pump) and you will be fine.

Thanks for the input. Seems like a lot of people have good luck with different setups. Is there a difference between Yank's ls2 chain vs say, one from a GM dealership? Yanks says HD but I don't know if that's inflation...

Ive had a JP double roller with the following pumps, LS6, texas speed and now a melling, the ls6 and melling required me to shave off a little on the back to clear the chain. The texas speed one is a nice piece.

Anyone had any double roller chains and a melling oil pump with out having to use the shims or all melling and double rollers have to use shims and shave part off front cover?

Can't beat the LS2 chain for $40. When you compare the LS1 and LS2 side by side it's a very noticable difference in thickness.

I'm running a Texas Speed Torquer V2 with the ls2 chain (GM) and melling 96. Has good pressure and is an affordable setup. If you research on here you will find very few timing chain failures even with the LS1 chain. However going to an LS2 is an affordable upgrade while you have the front cover off.

Thanks for the responses.. When buying the ls2, should I buy the full set with gears and all, or just the chain?

When I did my cam swap I used a new LS2 chain. A ported LS6 oil pump and its been 3k-4k miles and its been great no issues at all. I did however get the LS2 timing kit that had the chain along with the timing gears. Was it necessary probably not but since I was already there why not do a little upgrade.

LS2 chain and a TSP ported pump here. Oil pressure never goes below 50 and runs 60 driving, 70+ at WOT. For the $ you cant beat these and id run them on a high dollar stroker too.

No need to replace the cam gear, save your money.
