Pics of the 90mm LSX manifold and comments
My 90mm LSX came in today. This thing is awesome
thought I'd share some comments:
The Throttle body opening is freaking HUGE
The TB has a slight upward angle which will make bellows solutions alot easier since the MAF tends to point downward some:
I love how the manifold comes apart for port matching to the heads
A few comments though:
1. Pulling it apart can be a PITA. They use this damn rope seal that has some RTV sealant where they are joined. this makes pulling it apart somewhat difficult. Also have to clean the excess off and reapply RTV to maintain a good seal for reassembly.
2. Not too keen on how they attach the MAP sensor...no clip or anything to hold it down. I think some RTV at that junction will help
3. There seems to be alot of extra bolts supplied that I can't find a use for. The instructions aren't really clear as to what goes where
Unfortunately, the FAST 90mm tb hasn't been released yet...which sucks. I think I'm going to order the TPIS 90mm TB and have 2 to play with. Whichever works better, I'll keep. The other...EBAY

My thought...unless you want to port match...DON'T pull it apart

The instructions aren’t the most clear. The big bolts are new valley cover bolts. I have some pictures of my 90 mm installed at http://www.ls1powerplant.com

The selftapping screw is to hold the EGR down if you use it. the five semi-short bolts/nuts are for the TB I'm guessing.
Too much damn stuff to figure out

But why did they package 2 more in the kit? I also have 2 very short bolts I have no idea what they are for

Nice that fast made a intake for us but forgot that good directions really help.
Jay has my intake as well, and I have been on a backorder for the TB's for about a year now it seems. I still think it is stupid to have the intakes out and no TB's. Good thing MTI steped up to the plate to bale us out with their own 90mm TB.

Its the same as MTI. Nobody had any finished TBs in stock but TPIS had some 90 mm housings which needed the stuff from the OEM TB. Thats the route I went
