Simple question with probably a simple answer. Does where you put your muffler matter? I'm having a custom exhaust fabbed up and was wondering if say having my muffler near the back behind the axle or in the I pipe would make a difference in sound or anything.

whats your setup? obviously it is a Y pipe but is it with a catback or not? are you going with a bullet muffler? location of muffler wont really matter if its in the I or in factory muffler location just make sure you have a piece of pipe after the muffler or atleast a bend down. most people with bullets go with the I pipe otherwise go with the factory location due to clearance issues.

ya its a bullett and I was thinking I pipe but then I figured it is probably possible to have it further back towards the back but I didnt know if it would make a difference.

Not a catback no. Going to put the muffler in the I pipe then probably a y pipe out the back or something along those lines.

so, something like a loud mouth yeah? id vote in the I pipe. it will look and sound better. also, if you didnt like the sound you could always add a factory located muffler easier.
