Default Finally got a little traction!

Ever since I installed my SS4000 I haven't had any luck hooking with my Nittos. So I ponyed up the coin for some ET Streets and FINALLY got some traction! I ran a 7.8 with a 1.7 60'.

It could've been a lot better, I still had to feather it out of the hole. I was in a rush to get to the track and forgot my tire pressure guage . I thought I was running 30psi, which is what I asked the shop to put in them when I got them mounted. I checked them when I got home, turns out they were pumped up to 42psi If I lower the pressure down to the low 20s I think I could knock off a low 1.6 or even a high 1.5.

Here's the vid of my best pass

Nice work man! Car is leaving pretty hard. I def think you could rock out a low 1.6 with the pressure dropped.

Thanks guys, once I get the launch figured out i've got a 100 shot waiting. Hopefully those little 255s can take it.

I highly doubt the 255s will hold on a 100shot out of the hole but with good track prep and low psi they might bite.

Hey good job. At first I was having traction issues after my stall also. Would you believe it was because my motor and trans mounts were toast?
MT drs are great thats what im running now but if you really wanna get a good tire for the track get some hoosiers. I will be picking up another pair for track only.
Anyway great vid and good job!

How did you launch it on the MT's and do you remember your 1/8 mile time? At the psi I was running it hooked best when I brake stalled it up to about 3k and then eased off the brake and into the throttle. With the lower PSI could you flash it?

I usually just give it a little to take the slack out. Probably 1000 rpm then put the hammer down wot.

I'd say it would be worth it, your nose might come up a good bit more though. That was a great run, looks like on your 11.918 run you were 7.5 in the 1/8. I'd love to be able to get down that low. I looked up the DA and was at 1325' when I made my pass, hopefully we'll get some better and and I and I'll dip down close to that.

Nice pass. That 2V treed you hard! Haha.

I would definitely drop the pressure and see what it does for you.

It was at Natural Bridge. I'm probably going to Shelor next time, the track prep is usually better down there.

Haha, I gave him the hit to try to make it an interesting race. I didn't give him enough time because I still came around him and beat him by almost half a second
