Head choices
Hi guys wondering what the best option for heads for my boosted 5.3ls bottom end.ls6 intake and tb. Aftermarket rails. Wondering if 317 or 243 would be better ? Or bigger springs in the stock heads. Looking for 700hp. Not decided on exact turbo yet. Setup is going in A 1990 Nissan 300zx. Also wondering injector size I should be thinking about.
Thanks again!

what kinda fuel are you looking to run?
stock heads are good for that level of power, just add some good springs/pushrods.
i put ls1 heads on my 4.8 bringing down the compression to 8:8. i only did this because one of the stock heads of the 4.8 was fucked up.
also, a 76mm turbo would be good

Decide on your static compression, then pick the right combustion chamber. Whatever you do, spend money on dual springs and retainers.
60lb injectors will get you started. If you run out of duty cycle, sell them and move up.

Wasnt sure on fuel. Thinking e85 or pump gas lol. So stick with 5.3 heads with. Better springs and rods ? What brand turbos are reliable the ones I hear about most I'm assuming turbonetics Garette and such ?

The 317 heads would lower the compression to I think 8:5 which IMO its not needed if your going e85.
I say stick with the stock heads.
Just remember, with e85 you'll need about 30% more fuel.

I'm running stock 243 heads with 660 extreme springs.... Cr is 9.5.1 I also wanted to go pump gas but I will tell u right now when u start to read all the awesome things about e85 like reduced detonation chances and a super cool charge to do away with methonol also so ill save money from buying that. Just go e85 from the get go or u will be selling everything later on to do so.
