Well i finally broke open the wallet and decided to do my build. :) I just pulled my motor in my 02 z28 which has about 100k miles on it and im starting to build my new motor...

So far i have my top end for the new motor... TEA ported L92's w/ a port matched ls3 intake, eps stroker cam, prc .675 springs, ls7 lifters, and most of the other basic parts....

The next purchase is gonna be the block with callies compstar crank, H beam rods, and wiseco -8cc pistons which will be coming in a couple weeks.... This is the first build ive ever done so if anyone wants to comment please feel free all the help in appreciated!!

I have the pics but ive been very lazy since pulling the motor lol but ill have them up later tn!!!

very nice, I will be doing a very similar setup this summer, so I am pretty interested to see how this turns out

If you have the extra money I'd step up to the Callies I-beam rods. Stronger and gives you more room for power later on. Build looks good though it should deliver good results.

Ive been told that but truth is that the most ill do to this is so spray but not a lot and if i ever want more power ill probably build another motor lol ... Im not for forced induction and all that, not even a spray guy ... I like have all motor HP :) we'll see ... Im going from my stock ls1 to this beast so i should be satisfied for a few months!

Well in that case I'd get the lighter weight of the 2 rods.

Looks like a familiar build :burn:

One thing to remember is a small cam will work! I ran 3 different cams in my motor the smallest one produced the most hp & Tq. I did have a one cam that was the same in HP but didn't have nearly the same tq that the smaller one provided.

Thats interesting that the smaller cam made more power? I was told with the L92 heads that they like a cam with big degrees separation ... I was gonna call eps and have them spec out a cam

Just because it made more power on the dyno dosn't make the car faster.

FTI has been doing my stuff for years. Have no dyno # but it works at the track

Matched parts will always work better than any one special one

Cam # 1 246/249 110 + 4 LSA 512/474 on a mustang dyno (Might of been a happy dyno only made 483/456 on a Dyno jet)

Cam #2 243/255 114 LSA 495/453 on a mustang dyno (Car picked up MPH & E.T over cam #1)

Cam #3 239/247 111 LSA 495/505 on same mustang dyno as cam #2 ( Track results TBA ) This cam was spec'd to get more street fun and get it moving off the line since it's usually about 3850-3900 raceweight.

Give Geoff a call and see what he spec's for your setup. Be honest about what you want out of it and plan to do with the car and I'm sure he will set you up with something good.

The Callies H beam rods are fine. I've used the same set for 2 builds.

OP ... it looks like you have nice build started! I sure wish I could step up to a rectangular port setup.

By the way, don't forget about a Tick MC/Bleeder setup for that new clutch. You will need it. Also be thinking about a rearend ... it appears you may have the stock 100k mile 10-bolt under there.

O yea the tick is definitely goin in as well... ill be rollin the ticking time bomb i mean 10 bolt around for a couple months then its getting a 9'' :)

Looking sharp...stupid question but I'm assuming you are going drive by cable still. How are you planning on working the bracket in for the accelerator cable in? I have a conversion I am doing and the available brackets are shyt so far.
