Well, I guess it's close enough now that I can start up a thread for my build. It is a 5.3 iron block, bored a hundred over to a 347. Ported 243 heads, Futral boost specific cam, full exhaust, and most importantly the F1 blower:

With an eBay intercooler:

This kit is pretty much a combination of parts thrown together, but I like to call it a "custom" kit. LOL

I'll update as the build progresses.

Nice. I'm interested in how this will perform.

Specs on the motor? Its bored so I'm assuming a forged bottom end. Whats the CR look like?

Are the heads milled or just ported?

Awesome setup... I'm doing the same motor on my turbo build right now. Hopefully you'll get some video up soon. Like to see it perform. How many #'s are you planning on running?

What specs are you looking for specifically? Yes, the bottom end is forged. Heads are only ported.

Thanks playa, I've seen you out before a year or so ago. Your car does werk!

LOL @ Brocharger.

Like that? lol

Things should fall in place pretty quickly, just waiting on the cam to arrive then it's off to be tuned. Boost levels are undecided, but I do have a bench mark where I'm going to stop power wise.

What did you use for internals? Stay with the stock CR or raise/lower it?

Forged ls1 internals, CR I believe is 11:1.

11:1cr? Nice.....I hate the way everyone drops down to 8.5-9:1 just to turn the boost up higher.... I've got my 408 built with 12.5:1 compression and full timing running on pump gas and here sometime in the future plan on turbocharging, but keeping the high cr and basically build just enough lag into the setup so I don't start building boost until just after 4,000 rpms where the motor is spinning too fast for preignition to occur and do damage

people drop CR so they can hit full boost sooner so they dont have the lag. lag sucks unless your racing high mph. other wise your playing catch up

Made some more progress today, as the cam was installed, all front end accessories put back on, and then... The blower was bolted up.
http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo196/HHSgolfstud08/8fbc4514.jpg

Next up mocked up the piping from the blower to the intercooler, and then from the intercooler to the throttle body..

http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo196/HHSgolfstud08/7fe9c43f.jpg

And then we routed the belt.. I must say Kent(9secgoat) did an awesome job fabbing this kit up for our cars, and I can see why he had little trouble with belt slip through a 6 rib belt, it's hard to see in a picture but check out how much contact there is from the blower pulley and the belt. Pure awesomeness.

I'll try and get a closer picture of what I'm saying next time I'm at the shop. Before we left, all piping was tightened together and looks to fit great.

Getting closer, still have to custom up the radiator hoses and move the power steering reservoir. Then hook up the gauges, and install the fuel pump.

Superchargers don't lag... you can run a higher CR and boost, everything just has to be done a little more precisely.

And with turbos if you build for the lag it can help and let you build more power :)

I definitely think you should upgrade to an ATI harmonic balancer, and at least an 8-rib pulley with a F1 Brocharger

Until the last pick with the hood closed I didn't think it was going to fit....that thing is massive!

I'm gonna see how it does on the current setup first. It worked for 9secgoat, so I'm hoping it all works out.

Finally got back at it with the car, we ended up getting the new fuel pump in. http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo196/HHSgolfstud08/0f04a9da.jpg
Pretty easy install really, first we just unbolted it from inside the trunk, removing the braces and such, then unbolted it from underneath the car, and simply pulled the tank back, so we could do the swap.

We also buttoned up some minor other details, and now all we really have left to do is weld the BOV on and get video of the first start up!

I'll have to get a picture of it for you, but it's close to the driver side head, just behind the blower.

Untuned, and missing the bov at the moment(being welded on), so needless to say its a little rough.

Got the new pump in today. Wired the BAP in. Drove the car home. http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo196/H...08/32ccdf04.mp4 (http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo196/HHSgolfstud08/32ccdf04.mp4)

All thanks are owed to Uncle Frank. None of this would have been possible without him. He gave up his lift for 6+ months(not once complained), was patient with me as I tried learning as much as I could, and was always available to give advice and point me in the right direction. Thanks again for everything playa.

Also thanks to CBI, Andy @ Redline, Steck, and anyone else who helped. It's all greatly appreciated.

From the picutre, you should know the stock harmonic balancer will NOT hold up to the Procharger. Some folks have made do with a P1, but most that try at a D1 or above have problems. I tried, it failed twice out on the road with a tow truck ride. Both times I was lucky because I heard the accessory belt come off, then you have no water pump. The Procharger belt will be fine but not the accessory belt. I assure there were zero belt alignment issues when this happened either time. So I spent the money for the Fluidampr and no hint of issues for years now. Do it and pin the crank while you are there. Good luck getting it tuned and running strong.

I'll bet you can't wait! It's killing me waiting on me and mine lol I pulled my GTO in the garage last fall and only pushed it outside for a weekend to paint a friend's car....been working on mine for a hair over 6 months too and went to hear she fire and run again!

Decided to get a small walk around video last night, nothing to special. http://i375.photobucket.com/albums/oo196/HHSgolfstud08/599e0316.mp4

Have a few kinks to work out yet, and need to order a Meth kit before I let her eat. But she is close.
