Default 4.11's in a 4L60E is TOO much.

We'll not really, but I think I want something a little more street friendly. Setup is a 2800 4L60E, strange 3 channel 12 bolt, and turbo 383 making 600hp to the wheels. Normally I'll run 26.6" street tires, but for the track, I've got 27" hoosiers. These gears would be perfect for 1/8 mile, which is what I have near me, but I'll only hit up the track maybe 2-3 times a year and I'll probably get kicked out anyway. Also I shift at like 5600rpm. Looks like the highest I can go is 3.08. Is that too high? From there it goes to 3.42 and then 3.73.

Also what gear is better, motive, strange, richmond, other?

I have a few questions; Daily driver? What don't you like about these gears? Why do you only shift at 5600?

Yes, daily driver, although I have another vehicle. 1st gear is useless and I'm in overdrive at wot by about 95mph. Valve train wouldn't make power past about 6000 rpm. I mean I'll miss the 4.11's, they are fun for just cruising around town and have great acceleration in 2nd and 3rd gear, but racing around the street or highway driving just makes them unbearable.

Doesn't make power past 6000? Do you have a link to your dyno graph? I'd be interested in seeing it

I'll have to look at my tune, but it might be set up to shift at around 5800-6000. I just remember taking it out last weekend and the highest I saw was about 5600.

I thought for sure this motor would pull to at least 7000, but I was happy with 600 to the wheels with 10psi so I haven't looked into it much.

It def looks like it would carry the power further if it didn't hit rev limiter, that dip at the end is misleading. I would up the redline if it were me. 4.11's is a lot of gear for an a4. I have 4.56's in my m6 and I love it haha. Obviously the two aren't accurately comparable lol.

Quick Reply: 4.11's in a 4L60E is TOO much.
