Im in need of some sticky tires for a cam/bolt on 4th gen camaro and I figured that either the proxes tq series toyos or some nitto nt05r's would work pretty well. Has anyone here used both? Will have around 400rwhp, and from searching it seems like either should work well with the toyos having slightly better tread life. Does anyone know where the best price could be found on either of these tires? Looking for a 315/40/17 size.

I just bought mine for $158 each. If you want me to PM you I will. They are not a sponsor on here. They do charge shipping. Total to the door I paid $375.34.

That is awesome bro glad I could help you out, let me know how they are since I am still deployed. Did you have to do any mods like BFH/bumpstop, or roll fenders? Let me know.

I forgot to ask, but can I see some some pics? What wheels are you running them on? Lets whore them out.

Got them mounted up on some 17x11 zr1 DD rims, with +50mm offset and I pulled the bumpstops as they were all dry rotted out anyway. With the bumpstops taken out I had no clearance issues whatsoever. I did take a bfh to the inner fender well since I had everything apart, but it had adequate clearance as is imo.

Coming from nt05 street tires theres no comparison in traction, and the car tracks MUCH better. Just cruising on the street they hook very well, I think if you were to track them and get a good burnout they could cut some very good 60 foot times. For the price I dont think you can beat them. Stance is mean as hell too, I'll have to get some pics this weekend.

I am mounting them on 10.5 TTM's which I got a hell of a deal as well $649 shipped for 17x 9 and 17 x 10.5 comes with lugs valvestems, and centers I could not pass that up. I will get pics upon my return. I can't wait. I am going from 17 x 9.5 zr1's with 285 wide ovals so this is a huge upgrade. I however like my firestones don't get me wrong, it is a great tire too.

Has anyone drove the toyo DR in the rain yet?? Just to see how they handled

Any drag radial you need to be careful in rain, from what Ive seen posted when theres still decent tread depth left these are decent but can get hairy as they wear down. Might get some rain today, I'll report back if we do.

PM Sent!

Upon research I found out that these DR's hold up good in the rain, but a 315 compared to a 275 in the rain will cause issues due to the width and not so much the tread.

I use the Toyo RA1 DR's, They work well on the C5Z, but the Mickey Thompson ET Street DR's hook ALOT better but only have half the life!

I've been running 315/35/18 Toyo DRs for almost 2 years now daily driving. I've done maybe 3 burnouts and at least 10k miles on them. I am confident to say these tires are some of the best tires you will run, considering all around value.

Even almost 2 years later they still hook up perfect on the street. When they were new I could run full speed down the highway in the rain and feel comfortable, but now they are getting sketchy after the miles. I've even got caught in a big snow storm, kept the throttle under control and I was good. When I bought them they were $199 a piece, but now they've gone up. Definitely don't pass on a goodeal on these tires.
