Default will the carpet get burnt......??

about to buy some bmr boxed sub-frame-connectors and weld them in myself. i'm going for the drive in lift and disconnecting the battery, but what about the carpet?
i did a search and found one reply where a guy didnt remove the carpet and didnt get burnt. has anyone had a nice burn hole in their carpet?
thanks,
justin

If you stitch weld it, alternating side to side, there won't be enough heat generated to cause the problem.

Thanks for the advice, i'm going to go for it and hope for the best. It would be a pain to yank the seats and carpet out.
