So, how exactly do I set all these things. I played around with it but its just not sounding proper. The bass is the hardest, its rumbling and not hitting hard and sharply like it did before.

Powerbass 1100.5x
Matts speakers: tweaters and two door speakers, mid range speakers in the back seats.
Factory Monsoon (yes, I'm getting a good new HU soon)

Ch 1/2 and 3/4
Gain....X-over....Mode - with selections (Full, LPF, HPF)

Ch 5
Gain....Sub Sonic....LPF....Bass EQ

Then there's a:

"Input Mode" switch with selections (5, 4, 2)

Thanks.....

*****I guess I could just go to stereo shop and let them do it......whats a fair charge just to set everything properly????*****

ill assume you have 3 sets of rcas running to amp

input mode on 5 ch
ch1/2 and 3/4
set it to HPF and set it at 80hz give or take
unhook sub
turn gain all the way down on channel 1/2 and 3/4.
turn headunit up to 80% roughly. turn gain up for channel 1/2 until it just starts to distort, now do same for 3/4 or until its blending nicely with the fronts

now hook sub up
set LPF at 80hz
turn the subsonic off or all the way down.
turn bass eq up maybe 1/4 of the way
Now turn stereo up to 80% again
turn gain up until you have a level of bass you are happy with or until it starts clipping

do this with all bass boosts etc turned off on headunit and equalizers set flat

Awesome...thanks. I'll have to wait till tomorrow to do it.

I have two sets of RCA's....they are connected like my last amp, to the ch 1/2 and 3/4 on the amp.

My sub (ch 5) is connected to other end of the amp with wires.

EDIT......did it today. Worked great. Sounds killer. Only thing was, I had to choose Input Mode on ch 4 to make the sub-woofer work with everything. But its all good now...

Thanks.....

....now I'm in search of a nice HU......

Naw....I'm not into competition or needing the best sound possible. Its just my daily driver.....it sounds friggin amazing.

I guess everyone was right saying that just buying a better amp would mean MUCH better sound. Can;t wait to hear it with a new HU.

If you've never tuned an audio system before it is well worth it to have it tuned by a pro. when you get a new headunit, get one with lots of tunability and let somone put an RTA in there and use an oscilloscope or SMD-DD1 and you will be so impressed with the results.

the Car audio reciepe is 30% install, 50% tuning and 20% equipment

Yea.....I plan to research and find a HU, then bring it to a pretty reputable shop here in Ft. Lauderdale....have them install it. They said they will set everything with their equipment. I assume they have the good stuff you're talking about. They do crazy ass $20,000 systems and exotics, etc....
So I guess they'll do me good with my basic system.

I'm leaning towards Pioneer AVH-P4400BH.

Just make sure you tell them you want then to use an RTA, it might cost you a bit extra but its well worth it for the even frequency response. If your going ti go fo a dvd double din then yea piineer is they way to go with out a doubt. The 4400 is an awesome unit with great features and SQ. The 8400 is identical except it add the advanced app mode so you from use apps from an iphone, android powered phone...this includes navigation...either way both units have time alignment and good eq's which a crutial for good audio

Whats a fair charge to do the RTA tuning?

It depends on the system, but the most involved system would take about an hour and a half at most, zo for your setup id quote an hour, it would probs take about 45 mins tops

How about this.....

I put the amp in, but haven't drilled the holes to hard mount it in place. They supplied 4 screws that are about 1" long. How deep can I drill in this spot......?
