Just had a quick questin, I have an 02 ws6 and if I have a cutom shop make me a catless y pipe in place for my stock pipe, can I put the stock pipe (with cats) right back on with no problem?

Should be able to. Good luck with bolts not snapping off though. 4 out of 6 studs snapped on mine when I went to headers.

Swapping Y-pipes back and forth isn't going to be easy if the car is exposed to the elements over a period of time. Heat and moisture are going to make that job difficult, even though it's actually a very simple and straight forward process. Fighting rust sucks.

or if its rigged like mine. i had edlebrock shorties all 6 bolts different size heads and one bolt was tac'd to the flange :bang:

To the OP you could switch y pipes but lik said above heat moisture an he elements are goin to make it a not so easy thing to do

Another reason I count my blessings, my current car and previous fbody were basically unmolested with minor bolt ons (cat backs, lid, etc) so I haven't ran into any rigging yet. My buddy on the other hand... brought his car over to show me, we popped the hood and on the hood latch - spacing it from the hood itself was a wooden wedge used for door/window trim. Poor people got poor ways I guess.

For what I paid for my z28 I'm not too worried about it. I'll will all be taken care of.

Find some new blind friends then you won't have to switch the pipe back and forth.
