LT1 to LS1 97 Z28

LT1 to LS1 97 Z28 i just picked up a 97 Z28 roller and im planning on swapping my ls1 and t56 over from my 98 Z, but i had a few questions i couldnt really seem to find on other peoples lt1 to ls1 swap fbodys. Since i have a 98 Z parts car what kind of wiring harness mods will i have to do? i heard the 98 harness and ecu is easier to adapt to work with the lt1 body harness, is this true? also for fuel will i need to use the corvette style fuel regulator? any help would be great! thanks

Thats what im trying to figure out, if i can use the fuel setup from my 98. I know lt1 used a return system and i know that 99 and up ls1 fbodys used a returnless. My question is do 98 use a return setup? And my 98 is a wrecked parts car and the 97 is a nice roller thats why im doing the swap

Aaah got you. I've read that almost everyone goes with a vette fuel filter. This is the thread I'm using sorry I wasn't much help. I'm new to this too.

I have used the 98 set up. It is way easier to do the harness. just used wiring diagrams. 99 up DID use a return system!! The LS1 cars had a fuel pressure regulator built into the fuel pump housing. It had a pressure line going to a block in the line and it T'd off one going to rail and other going to the regulator. You can either use the vette filter and make some lines up OR since you have the 98 I'd use the fuel tank and lines. it'll be way easier to swap the lines then to make them. Radiator not sure if its good from the LS car or not but if not you just cap off the one port on the bottom left side and use LS hoses. The ONE thing I strongly suggest using is the LS heater hoses. Make me an offer on my fuel lines and their yours for the right price

If you have a LT1 radiator I'd use it instead, it's a bit thicker and has more cooling capacity. LS1 guys often swap them out, it's not necessary, but a good mod if you ever needed it.
As said you'd need to block off the spout on the bottom left and make sure there's a plug where the level sensor would go if you don't have one.

I have my factory line from filter to front and my made line that connects the filter return to the actual return line then you just add a new filter or use my filter that has 400 miles on it lol
