Default My 96LT1 vs Our New 02Ls1

Ok help me understand this, my wife is in the auto ls1 mods = longtubes, y pipe ... Lt1 mods= intake, lontubes and y pipe. 1st run from a 15 I left about a half a car ahead and stayed two cars ahead the whole way. 2nd run dead even from about 20 or 25 to about 70 and lt1 stayed a car ahead.... what gives does the fact thatshe had a/c on and traction control on make a big difference??? By the the the lt1 is an m6

m6 vs a4 had a lot to do with it I'd say. If you had raced to higher speeds the ls1 should have came around you

I figured an actual 1/4mile would of changed things. Forgot to add that the ls1 has a lid, ported throttle body and mar ends

Lol. I don't know how your Ls1 is running sir. I've had both, and both stock (lt1 was a 95 m6, and ls1 is an 01 a4) and the ls1 is simply quicker and faster from any speed. Something is wrong perhaps (driver not putting their foot in it all the way or mechanical)?

Only way the ls1 a4 would have to take a couple seconds to come around was from a roll in it's dead spot, even then it is impending doom for the lt1. Just my experience . Both great cars with potential though.

before this goes any farther about the a/c.... at wot.. ALL cars compressors disengage. The a/c doesnt slow you down. Its just another free spinning pulley at WOT. Ok continue

We'll need to see some pics to further evaluate the situation.

I have a race were i had the TC on ofcourse by accident against a 2011 5.0 stock auto. We were almost even with me barely pullin, then i turned it off and made a big difference.

Switch cars/drivers and see what the results are. I would imagine up top it would get ugly for the LT1 with such little mods.

I have never noticed a difference with a/c on or off. Guess some people don't use it to know. I still drive my car hard with a/c on.

i completely agree with ODDWRAITH ...i have both, and the lt1 always seems faster at the bottom end, but once they start rolling, it does get ugly for the lt1...my personnel comparison is the lt1 pulls like a small-block and the ls1 like a big-block...GMC5.3 wish yours were both auto's...try stepping on both at a higher speed and then see the huge difference...
