Oh god..here comes the air intake arguments lol. Do a search for ram air intakes, custom intakes, etc etc and you'll see what I mean. I plan on just making my own custom intake similar to the Volant.

This is my sad story about filters....

My 01 WS6 came with the FTP ram air kit c/w lid installed on the car and a K&N FIPK new in a box.

The FTP lid didn't seal and the engine was letting dirt past the filter. The ram air scoop the fits in front of the rad sucks (literally)the dirt off the road and up into the filter not to mention that the AC suffered due to blocked airflow past the condenser. I swapped the FTP for the K&N.

The K&N sealed great but intake air temps hit 127 deg F while waiting in traffic. Not too good for power.

I figured I would make something like the Volant but it's not just that easy to do so I broke down and ordered the Volant. There were some fitment issues but after some modifications, it works good. Check out you-tube and there is a review that shows the issues. Also, it doesn't seal against the WS6 hood so you will need to add some foam.

if your ta is close to stock, Get the SLP LID. it will fit better than both Volant and FTP. FTP is plastic ****. volant sucks, It cut off all air over my motor the first week of hard runnign and i started melting ****. it looks big dumb and ugly and 250+. get the SLP lid for 60ish. Looks so clean! you will have to paint the plastic piece it sits on but it looks great. once its done. ill post both of my pics with the volant and now with the SLP Lid. oh and get a smooth bellow!

I say use the volant or use something like

If you have the ability to seal it to the hood.
