Default How durable/reliable is the Stock flywheel?

Is this one of those components that need to be swapped out?

I have yet to see a factory or GM replacement flywheel fail, even after two cleanup mills at the machine shop during clutch swaps.

They're iron, so they give up some of the lightness that aftermarket alloy or aluminum flywheels bring to the table.

They're not SFI rated, so if that is needed then it's an easy decision.

Plenty of other things to break during hard launches...the clutch pressure plate and/or disc would be my concern.
