Default 1976 firebird formula 6.0/4l60e resto-mod

here are a few pics of my formula going under restoration
it had a built 400 (it was bored/stroked to 461) solid roller cam, harland sharpe roller rockers, edelbroke rpm manifold, etc, etc....
that was pulled and sold to a local guy.. then i started in on building the 6.0 engine. i pulled it down to the long block, took the heads to get ported/polished... i bought a texas speed cam/valve spring kit, edelbrocke intake, and ignition coil covers...
here are a few pics of what i started with, and where im going with it

i wanted that 'retro feel', of the engine in the classic, so i painted it a hybrid of pontiac blue, and silver. giving it a throw-back feel of the classic pontiac blue color...

Default Lh8 pan

Nice build, love the classic light blue!...word of advice.....do not use the LH8 pan. It hangs too low..I am presently changing mine right now. I am putting in a modified f body pan. Rear sump is shortened from 11.5 " to 8.5". My car is lowered...but the LH8 pan still hangs ~ 2" below the crossmember. I am using BRP mounts.

Here is a pic of my LH8 pan

This the modded pan...F body pan will be ~ 3 inches back from crossmember and dead even with the height of crossmember

My very first car was a 1976 Formula with THAT exact hood!! You dont see too many of them thats for sure! I built a 383 stroker, vortec heads, solid cam, roller rockers, ect, 4.10 gears and 3200 stall. Thing would fly... up to 100mph lol

Eventually I took off the '76 nose and replace it with a 1972 for the classic look.

the rivenuts for the front sway bar were spinning on me, so i had to cut the bolts out, and make new mounting plates for the sway bar to mount to, then i welded the plates to the frame

Looks good, what headers are those?? Look like they fit great! I am working on a '77 T/A and will be trying Kooks. And did you go with the LH8 pan? Jon
