Default LT1 and LS1 Fuel pump differences

I have been having some issues with the pump in my 1994. A buddy of mine gave me his factory pump out of his LS (could be a 98) car to try. I noticed the pump has a nipple on the top, which I do not recall my factory 94 pump having.

Will this pump work for me? I am not against cutting up my bucket if needed.

From my understanding there is no bucket in LT1 and early LS1 gas tanks, because they have baffled gas tanks.

Apparently in another thread someone told lies.

The LT1 does have a bucket.
