Default 3.905 on ls1 block?

Hey everyone is it safe to bore out my block to fit 3.905 wiseco pistons?
anyone done this before?
Please let me know asap

Yes. That is about safe max limit on ls1's.

Yup you can do it, but I'd still get the block sonic tested since that is max bore

^^^this. If you haven't already bought pistons, I would go with a 3.903 piston to leave some meat in the cylinders.

There's a guy on here selling me the pistons complete with the rotating assembly so I kind of have no choice.

Now if you get the assembly and can find a cheap iron 5.3 block to bore out end drop it in, then you could still take the 5.3 block farther later.

Plus if you stick with your ls1 block make sure the shop that bores your cylinders out has a torque plate.

I'm running that set up right now. I have about 530 miles right now and will be headed to the dyno soon. I have had no issues.

I'm running 3.905 mahle pistons in my ls1 block, no problems here.

What year is the block? 97-98 blocks can only go 3.903" max.
