hey guys, i plan on dumping my diff fluid this weekend (98 4.10/M6 -10 bolt). I'm stuck on whether i need the friction modifier. the gear swap was done by previous owner and I'm unsure if the rear end was fully swapped from another year before the 4.10 upgrade..the P/O had 4 or so 4th gens on his block and his neighbor was running a s60 in a 99 I believe. Plus my TC/ABS lights have always been on

assuming the rear end is from 98.. do i need additive?
how do I identify once diff cover is off, was this a auburn or torsen?

Yep, but running friction modifier in a torsen won't hurt it so as long as you have it you're covered both ways.
