Default block stamp identification

hi, looking to purchase a motor, but stamp no is d6z178112, it is somewhat hard to read the way they use a drill to dot it, it is a cast iron block, any body have a stamp no reference place to check? you guys rock!thanks, hb oh, update: dealer has been looking, no info yet, we think its out of a 2006 truck, but have no vin. to compare.

Parts department at any dealer that is willing to do any work can give you a complete vin and identify its displacement.You can carfax the vin to see what miles it may have
