Paint & Body Work - Painted my wheels and lights

I decided to see how long paint would last on these wheels. If it starts looking like crap I will take them to be powdercoated. I also used VHT Night shade to paint the lights. I am going to have the windows tinted this week as well. Here is the final product, although it is very dirty. I have been washing it about every three days and I can't keep the dirt off of it. I've had it about two weeks, and just did the paint over the weekend. I have already had people offer to buy it :), although I still think it needs a lot of work to look sharp.

imo i would powdercoat you tips aswell, and maybe shoot some clear on the taillights to give them more of a shine..did you sand them when you sprayed them?
and if paint doesnt last long on wheels you could plasti-dip them it lasts pretty good i did my grill on my truck and i powerwash it,and it holds up well

I am upset about the lights a little because they aren't shiny. I sanded and prepped everything well, and I put clear over everything as well. The lights were shiny until I sprayed the clear on them; maybe I'll sand it off and try again when I have the time.

I thought about the plasti dip, but I wanted to experiment and see if I could get a rattle can paint job to turn out.

the rims okay , the tint sweet , take the vht off those lights , the look perfect left alone .

looks great! window tint will make it 100%, all my camaros had black rims, never was a chrome guy. i had my wheels painted and baked, seem to hold up pretty well.

i actually did my ford f250 in the ''murdered out look'' i did blk cab lights and blk xd wheels and 2.5% tint all the way around. but back on topic lol i bought a aftermarket set of taillights that looked ricer becuase they were cheap and i was tinting them, i did not sand mine i just cleaned them really well and i must say mine came out shiny and about a year and a half now and still look really good. but you really probably should have gotten another set to keep the originals for inspection..once again my opinion only..and i bought my car with blk wheels i dont like the blk on blk car look like i do my truck

-Make sure you got a few good coats of clear (light coats, slowly build it up) and let em cure for atleast 24 hours
-Wetsand, start with 1,000 grit then 1,500 and finally finish with 2,000 until they have a uniform "dull" look, should appear to be a greyish color at this point. (just dont go through the clear, which is why u rlly wanna build it up with a few good coats)
-Buff with a foam pad using some type of compound
-Buff with a softer foam pad and some type of polish
-Wax
-Finished, this will give you that top notch glassy look you are after. :D

I looked up the law in NC and I am legal with the lights the way they are. I printed the law out and put it in my glove box in case I get harassed because of it.

Heater hose is another budget mod that will make the car look lower in the rear.

Are those exhaust tips ok factory catback?

Did you see my post above? Its not a question of if they will shine as long as you follow those steps.. they will match the shine of ur car perfectly.

I will definitely do this. I have enough clear on there that I could prob do it without adding anymore, unless you think I should.

Bad_408 - I have an SLP catback on the car.

Jus dont go crazy sanding at it and it should be fine. U can use a hose to keep a steady stream of water flowing over it while ur goin at it.

I sprayed two light coats of that VHT on mine and buffed them with meguires swirl remover. I didn't want them too dark. It looks ok .

I was worried about not getting them too dark as well. I ended up spraying on four coats and I don't think it's too dark.
