yeah way better. stock ls2 heads are actually the same heads as stock ls6 heads. IIRC, the 799's and the 243's (the ls2 heads you have are very likely 243 castings), are the same head.

go for it depending on the price.. what are they cylinders milled to? CNC cut? some people claim they dont gain anything with the patriot CNC cut 243 heads.. some claim hand cut are the best.. what is he selling?

if i had the LS2 i would go with the L92 heads and L76 intake + a mid sized cam. truck motors need truck heads and truck intakes haha BEAST

l92s for the win... deck them to get back to stock compression... i made 447 417 with l92s and a 219/230 .605 .604 on a 117 lsa cam. mine were ported and im sitting at a 10.3 compression (static of course)

Thats not that great power wise for ported L92s and a cam. You also did an LS3 intake as well?

Those numbers are easily attainmable with ported 243s and a cam.

OP who did the port work? The head casting are the same but LS2 heads but had lighter sodium filled valves. If they were ported by a good company and you can get a good deal then go for it. If nto send your 243s to advanced induction and youll see about the same gains.

im very impressed with the numbers, considering the drivetrain loss on a ctsv, a 219/230 cam... lower compression... i think they were very good numbers... and with the cnced combusion chambers, i wanna say its closer to a 10:1 static, and that is with a 6500 rpm limit in place. not the usual 7000 ls guys go for. i want to say the chambers are closer 74ccs... yes it has a ls3 intake... my focus was towards a stock like drivablity, and turbo later... however i do believe your faith in advanced induction is correctly placed, friend of mine picked up 52rwhp and 39 tq from his 243s on his lq9 camaro. keep in mind thats hair more intake duration than a zr1 camshaft... keep in mind that ls3 heads flow tremendous amounts of air as cast, so the porting them is a waste of money if you dont have the cubes to move it, decking to achieve higher compression is a better choice . again my focus is on drivability, heavy car like a V doesnt need peak numbers, it needs a good torque curve to get it out of the hole. so many people worry about peak numbers on a piece of paper, and forget that its better to make higher average power than a car that only shines at 6000 to 7000. every combo is different. l92 for the money are the best heads. ported cathedral heads will make great power too, as they have better port velocity, and less vavle shrouding. gm rates the l92s at 292 cfm on their 4.00 bore and closer to 312 to 318 for the 4.065 bore... the advanced inductions on my friends camaro were in the 306 area. its a toss up on heads... good luck with the build

side note again... that cam is designed to pass emissions using full factory exhaust. and keep in mind that cathedral ports vs rectangle ports have different camshaft needs... i had plenty of room for a much healthier camshaft, i would go with somewhere in the ball park of a 224 236 cam for rectangle ports, and maybe 224 228 for a catheral head.
