Default staggered on dd? pros and cons

I'm looking into getting wheels and tires soon, and what i want to do is run 17's in the front and 18's out back. My concern is that I won't be able to rotate my tires, the majority of my car's miles are on the highway. Is this dangerous in any way or does it just decrease tire life?

Also, is there anything else I need to consider?

i have 17x9.5 in the front and 18x10.5 in back on my DD and it works out great. now you cant rotate tires so yes that sucks, but for the look, i dont care. Any other down falls? none besides you cant run big brakes (i.e. CTS-V swap) with the 17's up front. With that being said what size staggered are you looking at?

I was looking at the setup you have with maybe only width differences, it just depends on tire prices honestly.

So there's no danger or anything caused from not being able to rotate?

Nope. No danger really. The tires in the back will wear faster. That's really it. I run deep dish c6 zo6 wheels with 17x9.5 front and 18x10.5 in the rear. Staggered really does look better. I say go for it.

He will be able to run big brakes up front with the 17's. It just takes some work, see the thread F-Body CTS-V Calipers & 17" Rims

tire wear and thats all. The tires may not last as long but other than that you should be good. Yeah i run a 17/40/275 front tire and a 18/53/295 rear. Rides true. Vettes have staggered wheels and tire sizes, so if it can work for them, it can work for us. Usually ppl dont do staggered because A) they dont like the look B) you cant rotate tires. In about a year or so this car will not be my DD. I have had the staggered look for year now with no issues at all if that helps.?

Wouldn't the fronts wear faster considering you don't do any burnouts?

No. These are rwd vehicles. The rears will wear faster than the fronts. Unless your car has bad front end parts, or is out of alignment.

Awesome! I'm gonna go ahead and stagger them then!

I want to do the 275 in the front and 295 in the back, I think I'm gonna have to go 245/275 though just for price's sake.

yeah man, i get compliments on the wheels/tires. More on how wide the fronts are. Most (non-f-body guys) dont believe you can fit a 275 (or sometimes larger, somehow?) on the front. You wont regret it. Now do some tire shopping!!!!
