Florida Members - carb tuner

Finding someone that can tune a carb is like finding a unicorn. Does anyone know a shop or person in the Cocoa Beach/Space Coast area that can tune the Demon 750 on my C3 454? Considering this thing gets 8mpg I really dont want to drive too far but it really does need a good tune.

I don't know from Demon carbs, but I can tell you I
see similar MPG on my heavy 400SBC Caprice and the
carb mixture is dead-nuts by the wideband. With no
overdrive and no EGR, this may just be what you have
to live with. It's also not out of line with other heavy
big-V8 vehicles I've had in the past (455 Olds 98,
390 Cadillac, 350 van, 383 Chrysler Newport, are a
few and none of them ran over 10MPG).

First step is probably just to put a wideband sensor
up the tailpipe and see if there's any need to change
mixture.

Could be that you want to raise the power enrichment
kick-in rather than messing with base mixture.

anything is possible. I dont know crap about carbs. you get the idle circuit right and the power valve is now wrong, get the timing dead on and the secondaries are too small. I have just the slightest hesitation when you go from idle straight to WOT. For a split second the rpms drop then the 500 ft/lbs of torque from the zz454 crate motor kicks in and we start doing doughnuts. I just want to get rid of that hesitation.

the mpg is about right for the BBC iv had and seen

there is also TJ off ellis road that has a shop with a dyno, called "trickpro"

id definitely like that number. i have 30 days left in the middle east so as soon as i get back this is one of my projects.
