Default LSX 78MM not fitting on brother's car....

This LSX does NOT seal against the driver's side front intake port. My brother has stock heads, never removed. We tried it on another LS1, same deal. It will NOT sit flush and seal against the front driver's intake port. Nothing is binding and all went in smoothly. All intake gaskets swapped to LSX, etc. Followed install to the letter.

I'm very UNIMPRESSED with the quality and material of this intake so far. It's fit and finish is subpar, IMO.

Did you use the supplied bolts for the valley cover?

Yes. I used valley bolts that came with the kit and the allen head intake bolts themselves.

Make sure the intake is not hitting on the front coolant crossover tube. On the 10 or so I have installed, almost every single one hits this tube. Just bend it down to clear the intake. It bends very easily, so be careful to need bend it too much (if this indeed is the problem).

Exactly what I was going to say. I had to bend mine down almost 1/2" so it would sit tight. And if you have the large throttle cable cam on your TB, you will need to modify that too to get 100% WOT. It hits the PCV tube. I had to grind off about 1/2"....

The TB mod was already done

Will check the x-over tube.

I just went out and checked the corssover tube and it indeed is hitting the intake. What did you guys use to bend it down? Did you do it in the car or did you remove the tube and do it on a bench?
Thanks

You can easily bend it with your hand or a small prybar/screwdriver works well also.

I put a piece of wood on it right where the intake touched & tapped lightly with a hammer. Mine would not bend by hand for some reason....

I just installed my LSX yesterday and had to do the same modifications to mine. Other then that, the install went really smooth. My only problem now is I am having a difficult time re-locating my WOT switch for my TNT kit. I have the large throttle cable cam on my car and now there isn't any room for the switch. Did notice a nice little SOTP difference from about 4k up with the swap from my ls6 to the 78mm LSX. Will have dyno results in 2 weeks.
