Racer's Lounge - 2012 Cup Playoffs.

I would say the biggest reason the Kings didn't sweep is the forecheck, or lack of it in game 4. While both teams played a solid game with great goaltending at both ends (big surprise), the King's forecheck wasn't the same as it has been in these playoffs.

They will need to go back to that relentless forecheck, offering no let up on the Devils D-men (pretty much exactly how the Devils played game 4) and control the play in the Devil's end a lot more.

If I were Sutter, I wouldn't want this series going past 5, even though a home Cup victory would taste that much better. Fire up your guns and finish this one off.

And yet there's still not a goaltender, side for maybe Quick, who could match Hasek's athleticism, who by the way....Played with the old style equipment, and also, by the way, played for one of those cup winning Red Wings teams. ;)
Tim Thomas. For an older guy he is the most athletic, flexible goal tender to probably ever play the game.

I'm kinda hoping the Kings will lose so they can try and win the Cup playing at home here in LA on Monday in game 6.. That would be so much more special and fun for the LA Kings hockey fans..

However, that would be playing with fire if the Kings started to lose games in a row and took the series to a game 6.. They lose that game by chance then game 7 would be in played in Jersey..

Anyways, the Kings have shown thru out these playoffs that they actually play better on the road.. I fully expect them to close this series out on Saturday in game 5..

I expect the Kings to win tonight, you never purposely lose a SCF game, no matter what. That and a win solidifies their road prowess with zero losses these playoffs.

It it was my team I would want them to finish the series as early as possible home or away. The last 4 cups the Wings have won we won 2 on the road and 2 at home. Winning the Cup is special home or away JIBBBY.

Games are too close still, not sure the Kings confidence is shaken just yet, but losing 2 games in a row is not a good sign..

When you win so many games you're bound to drop a few here and there hopefully this is where the Kings drop Four. I don't want to hear Mike Richards rub it in the faces of us Flyers fans about how they should have never traded him.

The only ex-Flyer on that team that I would like to see win a cup is Gagne, Richards and Carter are slackers (Williams already has one).

Excellent comment...Philly came back from down 3-0 in the series and 3-0 in game 7 to complete the second only comeback from 3-0 in 7 games in playoff history - just two years ago.

True it isn't over yet but it will take a miraculous comeback that doesn't happen often.

I'm going to the Kings Championship parade when one is set up too.. Been to 2 Championship Laker parades and smelt alot of weed in the air and saw alot of drunk Mexicans with tats. Fun stuff though regardless!!

I went to one hockey game this year at the Staples and it was fun... I miss the winning ways of LA hockey since Gretsky no lie!! This year was a wild ride and a true blast!!!

Excellent final game to win the SCF!! Congrats to the Kings, and especially Stole who is from my hometown of Yorkton, Saskatchewan and just missed the cup in 2006.

Also to King, who is from Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, only an hour from where I live now!

Just got home from the parade... Fun times, lot's of people, saw everyone on the Kings and the stanley cup too..

Had to bail out early as it was a mad house and zoo.. Glad I went though..
