PRO MOD

BUDDS CREEK , MD – The Northeast Outlaw Pro Mods will start the season at Maryland International Raceway with the EAST COAST DOOR WARZ event with a spectacular Test and Tune session followed by a blowout, killer, no-holds-barred 16-car field mix of Blower, Turbo and Nitrous cars. You won’t want to miss some of the fastest quarter mile Pro Mod cars in the country finely tuning their chariots for the upcoming race battles. This race extravaganza will feature one mixed blend of more than 30 Pro Mod racers trying to qualify. That means you will watch 24 super-fast, kick-butt cars battling for the prize money.

Royce Miller, owner and General Manager of MIR, is quoted saying, "I am really thrilled that the East Coast Door Warz is now an official 1320 Pro Mod Warriors points race. This is going to be an awesome weekend with a 16-car mixed field and an 8-car shootout with shakedown runs on Friday night, qualifying Saturday, and Sunday eliminations. Not only am I looking forward to seeing a great race, but with this cast of characters I can’t wait to hear the smack talking and wild bench racing fish tales."
The Northeast Pro Mod Warriors will feature some of your favorite and fastest teams like Vinny Budano, Jimmy Barker, 2011 Blower Champion Tim O’Hare and Nitrous Champion Matt Deitsch, Fred Scriba, Steve King, Steve Drummond and a host of others. New comers to the series, like Eric Latino ( from Canada ), Bill Lutz, Harry Pappas and George Williams, are expected to run some high 5:90s /6:00s and provide a real challenge.

Last Year the NEOPMA had more than 12 cars running in the 5-second range and this year the field should be even stronger. MIR is noted as a "Record Breaking Facility" and the cars that will be attending are expected to shatter the track records as they have in the past.
Come fill your need for speed, drink-in the unbelievable horsepower and enjoy the long/ smokey burnouts, huge nitrous purges and supercharged ear-bursting sounds with three fun-filled days of racing! (see the details below) Bring your friends, family, enemies - or anyone else that wants to have fun - to the pits and visit with the drivers and their teams. The Pro Mod Warriors will be challenging each one another during qualifying and finally doing battle on Sunday.
Friday: Pro Mods will have 2 test/shakedown sessions starting at 7PM. Saturday: Pro Mods will have 3 qualifying sessions (12noon, 4pm and 8pm). Sunday: the Pro Mod 16 car field Eliminations begin at 12noon , 2nd round at 2pm , 3rd Round at 3:30pm and finals at 5pm with the 8 car Shootout Eliminations following each of the first three rounds.

BUDDS CREEK , MD – LET THE BATTLES BEGIN. The tension is building. The warriors are honing their weapons and practicing their skills preparing for the upcoming fight. This first skirmish will truly be a battle of the GLADIATORS. For the first time in many years, the NEOPMA will be blending the classes with a mixed field of blower, turbo and nitrous cars into one giant altercation of 16 super-fast Pro Mod racers. These warriors will be bringing their killer horse power engines, sleek chassied racecars, and strategies to the front of the battle.

For those racers who need to get the cobwebs out, there is a daytime track rental test session on Friday, April 20th and then Friday night a test and tune session to sharpen their weaponry and get their mind set for the upcoming fight. On Saturday, the skirmishes get started with three qualifying rounds. The first battle begins on Sunday at HIGH NOON with BLOWER Warriors matching their screaming horse power against the cunning and guile of the NITROUS and TURBO Gladiators.

The battle ground is set at the smooth, killer fast track... MARYLAND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY. The blower and turbo cars are strutting their 3000+ horse power war machines with confidence that almost borders on arrogance while the nitrous challengers are feeling cocky with their new Reher-Morisson or Fulton cannons. The turbo guys are just anxious to begin the fight and are quietly sitting back, waiting for their turn to burn the blower and nitrous cars to kingdom come. Here are some of the comments that we didn't have to "BLEEP OUT":

Matt Deitsch, nitrous 2012 points champion, said, "I can't wait to put those noisy lawn mowers on their trailers. Now that I have lightened the car and added my new 865 CI engine, I feel confident that I can kick some butt." Some of the other super fast war machine drivers have their adrenalin pumping as well. Fred Scriba is ready to retake his number one points championship title back and said, "My team is looking forward to putting a real hurtin' to the turbo and blower guys. I have been waiting a long time to get those blower guys."

Gary Courtier snuck away with Shannon and came back home with a big smile and only one comment, "Watch out, we are ready for all comers. Nitrous, blowers and turbos... get ready to get your asses whipped!" George Williams, Vinny Budano and Vinny DiMieri are anxious to burn bullet holes in the armoire of the Blower/Turbo tanks with their new 5.3 bore-spaced power plants. George said, "Last year on our first full pass in the car we went a 6:03. This year we expect to win the Championship with consistent 5:90-6:00 and can't wait to stage next to Scriba, O'Hare and Deitsch." Quietly, Isaias Rojas from Puerto Rico said, "I simply expect to win many times against the racer/warriors of the NEOPMA."

Gentleman Tim O'Hare - being the easy going guy that he is - simply said, "Bring on these nitrous cars. They shouldn't be any real competition, at least not for my team. They talk the talk, but can they walk the walk?" Steve Drummond can't wait to inflict wounds on the competing gladiators with his new secret tune-up and said, "My 5:95 pass last year was only the beginning. Look out Tim, Matt, Steve, Fred and others... I'm gunning for you."
Gerry Capano said that he now has the experience to step up the wick and hopes to be in the winner's circle a lot. Mark Pullen and Larry Plummer are anxious to take on the nitrous cars as easy prey. Eric Latino and Bill Lutz both just laughed and commented, "The real competition for blower/turbo cars are other blower/turbo cars. Nitrous cars are easy passes for us." Eric also said, "I'm coming down from Canada to put a real hurtin' on you Yankees." In the meantime, Jim Bersani is secretly testing a new combination that he expects to be VERY, VERY competitive.

WOW!!! Bigger engines, secret tune-ups, new chassis, foreign invaders, real rivalry, lots of trash talk, fast cars, super fast track... WHAT A WAY TO START A RACECAR WAR! MAKE SURE YOU GET TO MIR FOR THIS RACE ON APRIL 21 & 22. Check the MIR website www.mirdrag.com for more details.

Outlaw 10.5

The biggest stars in the world of Outlaw 10.5 racing will be making a return to MIR at the East Coast Door Warz. The last time they rolled in to MIR in the early fall for the Ultimate Outlaw Shootout, there was a great show in which we saw the world record taken down and reestablished it with a 4.140. Richard Sexton in his ScrewBlown GTO will make his return to MIR in hope to be the first car in the 4.0s. Hot on his heal will be teammate Chuck Ulsch who holds on to the 3 lowest ET ever posted! Michael Martin holds the world record for a NOS car with a 4.23, recently turned in a 4.143 in testing and looks to put that number on the board during an event to make it legit! Hot on his heals will be Mo Hall and Harold Caldwell looking to leave MIR with the title of fastest NOS car. Will Tom or TJ Kasper leave with the record? Recently the pair at Gil Christy motorsports made the switch to Disomma power and is looking to make waves. Twin Turbo Tom knows his way down the track winning the World Cup Finals in 2010 and Kid Kwik is a two time runner up at MIR events. Lots of new cars will make their debuts and many series regular from Cecil and Atco’s programs will be in attendance for their first race of the season. This is one NOT to miss.

ODR

The roots of Outlaw Drag Radial can be traced to the cars of the real street program at MIR in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. The sport began to morph to what it was today. Big names like Fox, Johnson and Vretto’s made their bones in ODR duking it out at MIR for years. Recently southern racers have begun traveling to MIR to test their meddle against the hometown stars and the track known to be the best in the country for putting down the power! In the fall of 2011 “Fast” Stevie Jackson and Kevin Fiscus were locked in a point’s battle for the championship with the Ultimate Outlaw Shootout and came to MIR to settle it. Kevin arrived with the world record but Jackson left with it. 4.325, that is where the bar was when the smoke cleared. Jackson is on record as saying, when someone runs a .20, it will be at MIR. Could it be this weekend? That same event saw Paul Major in a devastating crash in the finals where he managed to run a career # during the race at a 4.39. Quickly fixed he made it out for the World Cup Finals where he managed a 6.58 @ 224 in the ¼ mile, a hundredth of a second off the world record. Expect for Major to be a factor at the end of the night. Rickey Fox recently strolled down Broadway establishing 4 world records at the same time. For a NOS stock Suspension car, he now is the fastest and quickest in the 1/8 and ¼ miles. 4.432 @169 and 6.821 @ 182 making him the first NOS car in the 6s! To quote Rickey, it’s going 30s next weekend. Expect the biggest and baddest cars from FL to New York to be in the house to see who reigns supreme for the baddest street car in the world.

X275
A week ago X275 kicked off its season at MIR with a BANG! 27 cars made the call to the lanes including “King” Jack Collins. In his first ever visit to MIR he managed to run 155 MPH in the 1/8 mile and set the track record with a 4.73, barely a hundredth off the BBNOS world record. Current world record holder Rich Bruder has been busy at work in NJ with Brother Nick and Mustang Mike getting a new bullet put together to be ready for this race. The F1X procharged mustang holds the record at 4.658 and looks to take the bonus for breaking their own record. “Bad” Dean Marins and his BB powered mustang fresh off his win at the Civil Wars will make the trip from New England to take his first trip down the famed MIR strip. Local’s Justin Smith and Bobby Flippin, known as the dream team, are looking to defend their turf! Bobby fresh off his win Friday night ran a career # 4.79 and Smith has found the grove with his F1R powered car cruising to a 4.78 last Friday. Both cars feature the LSX power and look to be a factor in the end. Eric McMillon has vowed to bring both “Vader” and “Skywalker” to the track. “Vader” the Turbo car driven by Eric has long been a hot topic in X275 since it debuted early last year with a 155 mph blast. Eric will be looking for a winner’s circle appearance at MIR, but will be opposed by his own car! SkinnyMan, otherwise known as Matt Mongal of Racecraft INC. fame will once again be behind the wheel of “Skywalked” the grey mustang that holds the record for a SB NOS. Featuring a SBF with Induction Solutions N2O systems on board, He is holding it down with a 4.722 and looking for crack the 4.60s first with the NOS car. Handy Boys Racing will make the trip from NC to make a impact, as will Chris Evans, driver of “Big Green”. A one time track champion, Chris ruled 2010 in X275, struggled in 2011 and has recently found new life with the F1X blower onboard! Don Barnett and his Vortec blow Firebird set a career number first time out with a 4.85 while teammate Ron Rhodes put everyone on notice that the 23 degree cylinder head cars are here to play with a 4.81. Ron currently holds the distinction as being the fastest 23 degree cylinder head NOS car and running leaf springs to boot!
Expect a large turnout in X275, in the past 40+ wheels standing, bumper dragging cars have made the ride looking for career numbers. This is going to be one you have to see to believe!

BUDDS CREEK , MD – In preparation for the first Pro Show of the year, MIR will hold a special test session on Friday April 20th from 9am till 5pm.
This test session is open to everyone and will be just $100 per car, which will include the traction spray. The track will be prepped for Pro Mods, Outlaw 10.5 ODR & X275.

Royce Miller, Promoter of Maryland International Raceway, stated, "We have had so many calls for testing prior to this year's East Coast Door Warz that we have included the traction spray in the price of just $100 per car; generally the spray is additional. This is going to be an amazing event and we are looking forward to seeing the track records fall."
