Changing my intake - which one is best?
I have a 350 LT1 forged bottom end with AFR heads competition package (2.05/1.625) and CC306 cammed car. I tried running a mono blade and it's too finicky for me to tune. I've been out of the game for 10 years - what is the cool intake to put on this car now? Should I just get another stock one with 52 or 58mm TB? Or is there anything better for my combo?
Thanks!
Thanks!

For a 350 held to the pcm's rpm limits I would just do a ported stock intake with 58mm TB.
Then again maybe a little elbow grease can help you get the monoblade working better. You have read the monblade IAC thread right?
I know with the 58mm TB just addressing the IAC bypass and getting the blades closed helped idle noticeably. Now it is a lot harder to get that all to work right with the monoblade but is possible.

Internally the LT4 is the same as the late small trapezoidal port LT1 intakes. If he got an LT1 intake to match to the heads there is no reason to consider an LT4 intake

What intake do the heads require? all the 195cc up AFRs say they have the LT4 intake ports. If so see if you can find a used one, if not you can have some material welded on the LT1 intake and have it matched to the gasket.

I'd rather just put on a stock intake with TB that works. I ran 115mph with stock intake and TB before the monoblade, after monoblade I am only runnin 110 mph so I am happy going back.
Anyone with a bigger track setup want my monoblade and intake? It just didn't work for me.

Like i said jason i wouldnt worry too much about it right yet once we get everything on your car working as it should then its time to start looking. Im with everyone else a stock port matched intake is all you need a 58mm tb. If we can get the monoblade to work later then keep it but gotta keep you eye on the prize ahead!

When I ordered my 58mm TPIS throttle body & gave him all my specs Because I wanted a Mono for my 396 build He told me a mono would make throttle response **** unless your 420 cu in or bigger Even with nitrous He told me if I was forced induction then he would sell me a mono LoL Hell their 58mm flows almost 1100cfm Thats plenty enough for 600hp on the motor

Got a line on a couple intakes and will swap out.
I ran 115 mph on the stock intake and stock 48mm TB so I dont even know if I need a 52mm or 58mm Maybe a stock 48 is just fine!

I was in sleeper look mode when I had it made for me.

I don't race anymore so putting a stock intake on and driving around like the old man I now am is what i want to do
I don't expect to sell it but if anyone wants to trade or pay for shipping they can have it when I put another one on. Warning: you may never get it to work right. But, you may, I just have no patience for it and don't have a big monster motor to feed. Like I said I ran 115mph wiht the stock TB I'm ok with that
EDIT: It's fine WOT it just sucked driving around town.

A stock lt1 intake with a port job is just as good as lt4 intake. The 92-93 lt1 intake are more liked due to the fuel cross overs are at the back of the intake causing a better flow. FYI if you deside to run a 92-93 intake on a 94-97 lt1. Make sure you put 24 pound injectors in the fuel rails. They are 22 pounds stock and will save you alot of time when you cant figure out why you car cuts out at higher RMPs. Yeah I repaced 3 Opti sparks and 1 msd.
I have a 93 Intake with fuel rails and 24 pound injectors for sell if anyone in interested.

Konman, I am pretty sure you are mistaken. People favor the 94-97 intakes and fuel rail because of that second cross over on the front end of the fuel rail. GM added it for a reason, which I'm sure is floating around somewhere on the internet.

The early intake with the lack of crossover has some slight advantages, the later intakes have some slight advantages fuel flow wise through the rail.
A ported LT1 intake is BETTER than a stock LT4 intake because as GIZMO provided us pics of years ago the LT4 intake is internally the same as the late LT1 intakes.

The LT4 just had more material above the port to seal to the taller ports in the LT4 heads, but the intake itself is no better it actually has the smallest LT1 intake ports as the early/middle years were rectangular
