Need help!
Hey guys, im new to this forum and need some assistance! I just sold my Speed6 and decided im going to drop 4k on my brothers 95 Z28 for fathers day. What should i buy? I want it to make reliable power and at least make over 350.

Start with a stall if it is auto. Then gears. Then intake headers cutout tires. That'll put you around 300. You want 350 you'll need a cam swap. You'll get a lot of opinions on what can to use but I recommend a small custom grind on stock heads. That will put you around 350. Add some spray and it'll be a boss. Bolt ons and a cam and you can plan on anywhere from 2500-4000.

If its an auto you'll need a stall converter. You can read up on them on the web. I'm not great at explaining stuff. If he's got gears then I'd personally finish the boltons get tires and suspension and go from there.

i love my vigilantly 3200 stall ... a warning about a stall ... at low rpms (1000-2250) it kinda feels like your driving in the mud. BUT as you get closer to the stall speed the car COMES TO LIFE BIG TIME.
all auto cars have a torque converter and from the factory the stall speed is about 1800 rpms (very low) this makes it so you dont need as much throttle to get going quickly. now by upping the stall speed to a higher rpm range (2800-4000) it will allow you to bring the rpms higher before the car wants to pull hard.
so a stock auto car you can foot brake (gas and brake at the same time) to bring the rpms up to about 1250-1500 rpms right? well by bringing up the stall speed you can bring up the rpms to a much higher point that is closer to the torque and hp peaks. kinda like how manual trannys rev the motor before the dump the clutch. now your not going to have to rev it to the moon to start moving but a few more rpms will be needed to get going at a normal pace. with my car as an example i have a vig 3200 and i usually run in the 1500 - 2000 rpm range to "keep up" with traffic.
on launching my car now that i have a stall i can bring up the motor to about 2400 to 2550 before the tires start to spin. i have street tires on it now and i have not tried to load the stall up yet with a set of sticky tires. but i bet i could get a little higher with more traction.
hind sight is 20/20 and i wish i had got my stall sooner.
