Default 86 K1500 5.3 SM465 swap

Hi, I am trying to finish up my 5.3 swap into my 1986 GMC. Having a few issues that I need help with. The main issue as of right now is fuel system. I have found several pumps that make the necessary psi, and flow the required gph. However as this truck is to be a daily driver I would like to run an in tank pump. I need a sender that will allow me to run a pump and still allow me to use my factory tanks. I under stand it will be on pump per tank. Now I have the understanding that a TBI sender from a 1987 pickup would work with a pump from an mpfi Tahoe/ truck say 96-98. Does this sound do able, and does anyone have knowledge of this beig done before, or going a different route?

Thanks in advance,
Brad

Well, decided to re-work my existing senders. I will post pics if anyone is interested. Also my PCM should be done tomorrow, so maybe some wiring this weekend!

If you can fit a 96 tank in your truck, that would be the best option as the fuel pump is a replaceable separate unit, unlke the 97-98 fuel pump modules.
